Team of people smilingResearch Champions are staff who have an interest in research and want to help promote research awareness, engagement and delivery within their own team and their own clinical area. This role gives staff the opportunity to see clinical research in action, contribute to service improvement and offer opportunities for involvement to service users, patients and colleagues.

The role also allows access to research specific training. Research Champions can support the delivery team with the following:

  • engagement of clinical teams & key stakeholders with research
  • study promotion
  • feasibility review of new studies
  • set up new research studies
  • develop strategies for recruiting service users /patients / staff onto the study

Research Champions will always work under the guidance of the research delivery team.
