All of our Library's online resources use your MPFT email address to access them. This page has helpful information on how to log in to these resources and how to get help or training if you need it.
If you don't have an MPFT email address please contact the library team. We will be able to give you a username and password to use instead: library
All MPFT staff and placement students with an email address ending @mpft.nhs.uk are automatically able to log in to access online eBooks, databases and journals from MPFT Library and Knowledge Services. The Find Evidence by Subject page has more details on what resources are available. Some students on placements or staff from other organisations working in partnership with MPFT are also eligible and can contact the library team to arrange access.

Many of our resources use slightly different phrasing from each other. We've done our best to explain it below, but please get in touch with the library team if you have any questions or issues accessing our resources.

“This is a short demonstration of how to log into the library's online resources using your MPFT e-mail address and network password.
I'm using UpToDate as an example, but this works on all of the Trust's online resources. It includes BMJ Best Practice, Royal Marsden Manual, all of our online journals and eBooks.
As you can see, I'm on the login screen from the home page for UpToDate, there's just a short login button on the top screen, but you'll find similar buttons on all of our online resources.
You select login or log in with my institution. And you select when asked to sign in again. Some places will say choose your organization. Some will say Open Athens.
Just select that and on this find institutions side start typing Midlands Partnership. You'll see it comes up in the suggestion. It's quite small, but you can see the trust logo on the left there as well.
Select this and you'll be taken to the login screen from our Health Informatics Service. Enter your Trust e-mail address. Your password. You might be able to sign in if this is a shared computer, you'll want to choose to select no (to the option to ‘stay signed in’). If it's your own PC or network, login with your own login, you can say yes (to the option to ‘stay signed in’).
As you can see, I'm now logged in as Midlands Partnership. Some other online resources will simply say ‘Access Provided by Midlands Partnership’ and you can then use the resource fully.”
Save time accessing online articles by adding LibKey Nomad to your web browser. LibKey Nomad is compatible with Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Safari web browsers. It will tell you at a glance if articles you are browsing online are available to access through the MPFT Library service.
You can use your browser's add-on or extension feature to add LibKey Nomad, or download it from the LibKey Nomad website.
