Every year approximately 100,000 stokes occur in the country, equivalent to 1 every 5 minutes. Stroke survivors can gain the best recovery within the first 6 months and the support from carers and other services are crucial in this early recovery period. Ongoing life after stroke support can then continue to support stroke survivors on their journey to achieving and maintaining their best health.
Community stroke support across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent region currently varies, and we are collaborating with commissioners and community organizations to deliver the highest quality services that effectively meet the needs of our service users.
