Allen's Training is a course that teaches the assessment of Cognitive Functioning using the Claudia Allen ‘Functional Information Processing Model’.

Three-day course for Occupational Therapists working with anyone with suspected deficits in their cognition - this includes a variety of conditions such as CVA, MND, Parkinson’s and is applicable to Mental Health, Physical Health, Learning Disabilities, and Dementia Services.
Including: the ACLS-6 stitching tool, manual, trifold card, the "Understanding Cognitive Performance Modes" book, and access to the ACLS-6 app. This means you will have everything you need to get started using the model.  By the end of the course you will be able to administer the stitching tool, Routine Task Inventory, Allen's Evaluative Activities and Cognitive Performance Test. You will also be supported to gain interrater reliability, along with ongoing support during and after. The ACLS-6 stitching tool is plastic and therefore more compliant with infection control.

A truly occupational battery of tools supporting you, as an Occupational Therapist, to identify someone's level of cognitive functioning from an evidence-based model.  The modes support you to identify treatment programmes and goals, risk management strategies and provide standardised evidence for care package applications, promoting independence, supporting carers, and increased understanding of functioning.
