The Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) service will be running the drive-through clinics on the St George’s Hospital site in Stafford from Monday to Friday between 2-6pm until the end of August.
The service will focus on providing vaccinations for the following school-age children across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent:
- Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) immunisations for Year 8 and 9 students and ‘catch ups’ for Year 10 and 11
- Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) ‘catch up’ vaccinations for Year 8, 9 and 10
An appointment will need to be booked in advance by calling the team on 0300 124 0366 (available between 8am-4pm on weekdays).
Those arriving on site for their allotted appointment time will be met by a member of the team, who will be wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and will administer the vaccinations through the vehicle’s open window.
Sandra Bloor, team leader for the service said: “We continue to work closely with schools in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent to provide clinics on site where possible, ensuring that national guidance is followed. However, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’re working in a different way to offer these important vaccinations to young people.”
