Martyn Perry appointed Chief Digital Information Officer page thumbnail

We are delighted to announce that Martyn Perry has been appointed as Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) for MPFT, following a comprehensive and competitive external recruitment process.

Martyn, who was previously our Deputy CDIO, has been acting in the role since Chris Ibell stepped back to focus solely on his responsibilities with the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB.

This appointment marks an exciting milestone for Martyn, who was recognised last year as one of the country’s top technology leaders by the CIO 100 Awards UK, where he ranked second overall.

Martyn has a long-standing history with the Trust, having originally joined SSSFT in 2009. During his time with us, he has successfully led numerous projects both within and outside the digital space - including managing the infrastructure for the Redwoods Centre inpatient new build and playing a key role as Programme Manager in the Trust merger process in 2018.

Neil Carr, our Chief Executive, commented: "Martyn has consistently demonstrated his leadership and innovation, helping to drive forward our digital agenda with a focus on improving patient outcomes and enhancing services. His achievements, including being ranked so highly in the CIO 100 Awards, speak to his talent and dedication. I am confident that Martyn will continue to lead our digital transformation with the same passion and vision that have been the hallmarks of his career to date."

On his appointment, Martyn Perry said: "I am incredibly honoured to take on this role at such an exciting time for digital transformation in the NHS. I look forward to continuing to lead the fantastic MPFT Digital team, and working closely with my colleagues across the Trust and our wider systems to drive innovation and ensure our digital services meet the evolving needs of patients, service users and staff."

Please join us in congratulating Martyn on his appointment and in supporting him as he continues to lead our digital journey.
