Since the last edition of the Programme Update, we have seen go lives across the RiO Virtual Assistant, RiO Convergence and Hybrid Mail Projects. More information relating to each project can be found below, along with the programme and project updates, and information on new projects.
The latest Digital Capability Framework (DCF) update highlights significant progress on key digital projects designed to improve patient care and streamline processes across MPFT.
The RiO Virtual Assistant (VA) is a secure chatbot service that allows patients to view and manage their appointments at any time, reducing call wait times and alleviating pressure on appointment booking teams.
The RiO Convergence project is bringing more teams onto the RiO Electronic Patient Record (EPR), replacing legacy systems to ensure a more connected and efficient way of managing clinical notes, alerts, prescriptions, and other essential patient information.
Hybrid Mail Phase 1 is nearing completion, with the final teams - Adult Mental Health and Podiatry North - set to go live on 28 February 2025. Work on Hybrid Mail Phase 2 is also progressing, with a project brief prepared for submission to the February 2025 Programme Board. In addition, Hybrid Mail has now integrated with Patients Know Best, enabling digital-first communication with patients. If messages are not read within a set timeframe, they will be automatically printed and posted, ensuring all patients receive important updates without the need for manual checks by staff.
This month’s update also includes timelines for ten ongoing projects, including Patients Know Best Phase 2, IAPTUS RiO Integration, and NCRS Click Through. A new section has also been introduced, outlining recently launched DCF projects and those set to begin soon.
