MPFT Digital Team Takes Action on End Digital Poverty Day page thumbnail

In a remarkable initiative that underscores the significance of digital literacy in today's society, the MPFT Digital team joined forces with the Digital Poverty Alliance on the 12th September 2023 to observe End Digital Poverty Day in collaboration with Digital Poverty Alliance. As part of their ongoing commitment to enhancing digital literacy within health and care services, and the community. The MPFT Digital team embarked on a three-day journey that left a lasting impact on the community.

Over the course of these three days, the MPFT Digital team went above and beyond, extending their expertise to assist over 20 individuals on their digital journeys. They also contributed significantly to bridging the digital divide by donating 12 laptops, 4 keyboards, 4 mice, and more to local libraries, including Stafford Library, Southwater Library, and Newcastle under Lyme Library.

Some of the most heartwarming highlights of this initiative included:

  • The MPFT Digital team had the pleasure of guiding an individual through the process of enrolling in a college evening class. This individual, initially unsure about navigating the online enrollment process, received the necessary support and guidance, opening doors to new opportunities for personal and educational growth.
  • For someone who found themselves locked out of their laptop, the MPFT Digital team was there to help them regain access to their emails and accounts, restoring their connection to the digital world.
  • The digital skills sessions covered a range of essential skills, from creating and sending emails to exploring various digital tools. These sessions not only boosted individual confidence but also contributed to improved communication and efficiency in everyday life.

In an increasingly digital world, possessing these skills empowers individuals to navigate the digital landscape effectively, improving their access to education, employment opportunities, healthcare, and social connections. These skills are essential for personal growth and economic participation.

In addition to their impactful three-day initiative, the MPFT Digital team is dedicated to providing ongoing support.

MPFT Digital host free digital skills sessions every Friday at Rising Brook Library, Merrey Rd, Stafford ST17 9LX, from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Furthermore, they are on the cusp of expanding their reach to more locations, making it even easier for individuals to access these vital resources.
